TWO LOADER COURSE OPTIONS
There are two loader course options available:
CIVIL WHEEL LOADER | RIIMPO321F Conduct civil construction wheeled front end loader operations
This ticket is suitable for those wanting to operate a loader in the construction industry and you may be eligible for CSQ funding.
MINING LOADER | RIIMPO304E Conduct wheel loader operations
This ticket is suitable for those wanting to operate a loader on specific sites such as mine sites or quarries and is NOT a CSQ Funding approved course.
Both courses are the same price or alternatively you can cover both qualifications in the same time for an additional $99 to cover the different theory aspects of the two courses.
Overview – Loader ticket RIIMPO321F
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct wheeled front end loader operations.
This unit applies to those working in site- based roles.
Where equipment being assessed requires the fitting and removal of attachments to be demonstrated an integrated tool carrier unit should be used.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions prior to applying this unit.
This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.
Practical Component:
- The candidate must demonstrate completion of loader operations that safely, effectively and efficiently follows workplace procedures to carry out work activity on at least two occasions, and include:
- conducting prestart checks prior to commencing operations and shutdown procedures on completion of operations
- driving and operating the equipment, and adjusting techniques to suit site conditions
- completion of operations to specification using at least two different material types including:
-
- stripping/spreading materials
- loading, cutting/boxing
- backfilling
- lifting and carrying materials
- assisting with loading and unloading wheeled front end loader from float/trailer
- site clean-up on
- parking and securing equipment.
- In the course of the above the candidate must also:
- locate and apply relevant documentation, policies and procedures
- select and wear personal protective equipment required for work activities
- apply safe work practices, identifying and reporting all potential hazards, risks and environmental issues
- apply problem solving and troubleshooting techniques when operating equipment
- monitor and manage equipment performance using indicators and alarms
- identify common equipment faults
- monitor and manage equipment performance using indicators and alarms
- identify common equipment faults
- apply levelling techniques
- establish weight of load
- select and use the required tools and equipment
- use a range of communication techniques and equipment essential to the safe completion of work activity, including hand, audible and other signals
- meet written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures associated with equipment operations
- organise work activities to meet all task requirements.
Please note that all theory is to be completed prior to your practical assessment. This can be emailed or printed and collected from our Cairns facility. Theory can be completed at home or if preferred, can be completed self-paced at our facility. Please advise us which option suits.
On successful completion you will receive statement of attainment for RIIMPO321F – Conduct civil construction wheeled front end loader operations.
Course Details – Loader ticket RIIMPO321F
Course Location: 39 Moffat Street, Cairns North
Duration: 2 days.
Course Times: Start at 7:45am.
Assessment Type: Theory and Practical
On the day of assessment, you may be required to start before 7:30am and stay after 5pm depending on how long the formal assessment runs for, we will advise of these times whilst you are on the course.
Due to site safety inductions, any student that arrives after 08:15am will need to reschedule their booking and pay for the course in full.
If you are unable to attend due to illness, we will require a doctors certificate/clearence to be able to reschedule your course. If you are unable to provide a doctors clearance/certificate then you may need to pay for your course again.

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate and shift loads using wheel loader operations.
This unit applies to those working in site-based roles
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and Industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions prior to applying this unit.
Practical Component:
- conducting prestart checks prior to commencing operations and shutdown procedures on completion of operations
- driving and operating the wheel loader for operations and adjusting techniques to suit site conditions
- shifting loads, carries the load as close to the ground as possible and deposits load to the correct location
- parking and securing the equipment
In the course of the above work the candidate must also:
- locate and apply relevant documentation, policies and procedures
- select and wear personal protective equipment required for work activities
- carry out vehicle refuelling requirements and procedures where applicable
- apply safe work practices, identifying and reporting all potential hazards, risks and environmental issues
- apply problem solving and troubleshooting techniques
- conduct loading and unloading
- manage changes in the loads centre of gravity during transportation
- select and use the required tools and equipment according to original equipment manufacturer manual
- monitor and manage equipment performance using indicators and alarms
- identify common equipment faults
- inspect and prepare work area
- use a range of communication techniques and equipment essential to the safe completion of work activity, including hand, audible and other signals
- meet written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures associated with equipment operations

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a car licence to get a loader ticket?
No. A car drivers licence is not required to complete your loader training course and receive your loader ticket. If you have never driven or operated a vehicle then you may require additional training.
Do you guarantee I will pass my loader assessment?
Our trainer assessors will do everything they can to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to pass your assessment.
Our main aim is for you to stay safe so for that reason, we will not pass anyone who does not meet the passing requirements. Overall, our passing rate is extremely high.
What employment opportunities will my loader ticket bring?
We have partnered with Advanced Recruitment Services who specialise in mining, construction, maritime and logistics recruitment. The team there will do their best to place you in a position where you can utilise your new loader operating skills. You can register to join their talent pool here.
What certification will I receive?
On successful completion and assessed as competent you will receive a Statement of Attainment issued by Pro-Lift Training and Assessment Services RTO 40817.
