TWO DOZER COURSE OPTIONS
There are two dozer course options available:
CIVIL DOZER | RIIMPO323E Conduct civil construction dozer operations
This ticket is suitable for those wanting to operate a dozer in the construction industry and you may be eligible for funding.
MINING DOZER | RIIMPO308F Conduct tracked dozer operations
This ticket is suitable for those wanting to operate a dozer on specific sites such as mine sites or quarries and there may be funding available for this course.
Both courses are the same price or alternatively you can cover both qualifications in the same time for an additional $109 to cover the different theory aspects of the two courses.
Overview – dozer ticket RIIMPO323E
This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to conduct dozer operations.
This unit applies to those working in site based roles.
Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and industry sectors, and must be sourced from state jurisdictions prior to applying this unit.
This unit alone does not provide sufficient skill to independently load and unload equipment. To perform this activity safely, personnel must either complete or be assisting someone who has completed RIIHAN308F Load and unload plant or equivalent.
This course is appropriate for those working in operational roles within the mining, building and construction industries.
Practical Component:
- conducting prestart checks prior to commencing operations and shutdown procedures on completion of operations
- driving and operating the equipment, and adjusting techniques to suit site conditions
- completion of operations to specification in at least two different material types on at least three occasions including:
- stripping/spreading materials
- cut and fill
- battering
- stockpiling
- bulk excavation
- cutting drains
- benching
- backfilling
- site clean-up on
- selecting, fitting, testing, using and removing a minimum of two attachments, which must be certified and approved in line with workplace procedures and could include, but are not limited to, the following:
- stick rakes
- root rakes
- push blade
- angle blade
- bull blade
- power angle tilt blade
- rippers, winch
- tree pusher
- cable plough
- stump plough
- power control unit
- cable drum
- ground engaging tools
- assisting with loading and unloading unit plant type from float/trailer
- parking and securing of equipment.
In the course of the above the candidate must also:
- locate and apply relevant documentation, policies and procedures
- select and wear personal protective equipment required for work activities
- carry out vehicle refuelling requirements and procedures where applicable
- apply safe work practices, identifying and reporting all potential hazards, risks and environmental issues
- apply problem solving and troubleshooting techniques
- monitor and manage equipment performance using indicators and alarms
- identify common equipment faults
- apply levelling techniques
- select and use the required tools and equipment
- establish weight of load
- apply methods of changing machine attachments
- use a range of communication techniques and equipment essential to the safe completion of work activity, including hand, audible and other signals
- meet written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures associated with equipment operations
- organise work activities to meet all task requirements.
Please note that all theory is to be completed prior to your practical assessment. This can be emailed or printed and collected from our Cairns facility. Theory can be completed at home or if preferred, can be completed self-paced at our facility. Please advise us which option suits.

Course Location: 39 Moffat Street, Cairns North
Duration: 2 days.
Course Times: Start at 7:45am.
Assessment Type: Theory and Practical
On the day of assessment, you may be required to start before 7:30am and stay after 5pm depending on how long the formal assessment runs for, we will advise of these times whilst you are on the course.
Due to site safety inductions, any student that arrives after 08:15am will need to reschedule their booking and pay for the course in full.
If you are unable to attend due to illness, we will require a doctors certificate/clearence to be able to reschedule your course. If you are unable to provide a doctors clearance/certificate then you may need to pay for your course again.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a car licence to get a dozer ticket?
No. A car drivers licence is not required to complete your dozer training course and receive your dozer ticket. If you have never driven or operated a vehicle then you may require additional training.
Do you guarantee I will pass my dozer assessment?
Our trainer assessors will do everything they can to equip you with the knowledge and skills you need to pass your assessment.
Our main aim is for you to stay safe so for that reason, we will not pass anyone who does not meet the passing requirements. Overall, our passing rate is extremely high.
What employment opportunities will my dozer ticket bring?

What certification will I receive?
On successful completion and assessed as competent you will receive a Statement of Attainment issued by Pro-Lift Training and Assessment Services RTO 40817.
